M J Faint Roofing Warminster are experienced in the application of many types of roofing including clay and concrete tiles. Various applications (new or refurbishment) can be covered with either clay or concrete tiles. In most instances restoration and / or strip and recovered roofs, use the existing roof covering with (after sorting and grading) any shortfall, being made up from reclaimed tiles to a close match. There are many forms of clay and concrete tiles but, generally speaking they can be divided into three main types:- Plain, Overlapping and Interlocking.

Clay tiles.

Clay tiles have been used to cover various roof applications
for more than 2000 years. They are highly durable, being processed, shaped and kiln fired from naturally occurring deposits. Clay tiles are weather resistant and modern production methods ensure even greater durability. These methods have given rise to an increase in both colour and texture of finish. Over time, one of the clay tiles great assets is its weathering appearance, their colours remain fast and indeed improve with age. When asked to provide a quotation, we will assess the condition of existing clay tiles and discuss the options available with either, re-roofing or repairing projects. Concrete tiles.

A fairly modern process, concrete tiles being extruded from a mixture of aggregates, cement and water have come a long way. They are now available in many colour finishes and differing textures. Colour pigments are either added to the mix or applied to the surface during the manufacturing process. Sizes and shapes vary, but at their largest (Approx’ 10 per square meter) they are the most economic form of roof covering. Manufacturers have developed a large number of profiles, accessories and fittings. Be it traditional or contemporary, we are able to provide an ever increasing choice in actual roof finish. From simple repair, new roof or complete re-roof, the choice is vast. Many concrete tiles carry a 50 year guarantee and do not require maintenance.
